South Korea coach Huh Jung-Moo couldn’t hide his pride as his team qualified for the knock-out stages for the first time on foreign soil.

After the 2-2 draw with Nigeria which clinched the Taegeuk Warriors’ place he said: “We conceded the first goal which was very tough, but my players stayed cool.

“I am very proud of them. They were not intimidated and they played to their full potential.”

Captain and Manchester United midfielder Park Ji-Sung admitted: “Our goal was to reach the last 16. I am very happy we accomplished this. All the players know how important this is.”
