Mexico captain Rafael Marquez warned his team to keep their feet on the ground after their 2-0 victory over France last Thursday.

He told Goal.com: “We’re happy because of the win but we need to be calm and keep our feet firmly on the ground.”

However, veteran striker and talisman Cuauhtemoc Blanco, who scored El Tri’s second goal against France from the penalty spot, was prepared to look ahead to a potential meeting with in-form Argentina in the knock-out stages.

He said: “We don’t have a problem playing Argentina. They have many good players but we’re not afraid of them.”
