Megson Ties O’Brien To Long Term DealBolton Wanderers have announced that the club have agreed a new long term contract with defender Andy O’Brien. The 29 year old player has become a key figure within the team this season and has started all of Bolton’s league games to date. ![]() O’Brien has spent much of his professional career playing in the Premier League and has enjoyed spells at Bradford City, Newcastle United and Portsmouth. He was signed for Bolton by former manager Sammy Lee in August 2007. He said “I'm eternally grateful for the opportunity that Bolton gave me…The way the supporters, the manager Gary Megson and the players have treated me has made me enjoy my football as much as I ever have done”. The Republic of Ireland international’s contract will now run until 2011.
