Megson Draws Comfort From GapBolton Wanderers point at bottom club West Brom edged them further away from danger but saw boss Gary Megson experience the good and bad sides of management. After receiving a standing ovation from the Baggies fans prior to kick-off, still appreciative of his four season in charge and two Premier League promotions, Megson watched Matt Taylor put his side ahead only to see Danny Shittu deflect a shot past Jussi Jaaskelainen and suffer the wrath of referee Howard Webb who ultimately dispatched the former Hawthorns boss to the stands. The point lifted Wanderers closer to safety but his thoughts were still with his old club “It’s difficult for them,” he said. “this was a must-win game for them, and they haven’t won it. If we can get where we want to be, there would be no-one more pleased than myself to see West Brom stay in the Premier League.” Megson also apologised to Webb after the match for his comments following West Brom’s equaliser, scored as he was trying to make substitution. "I quite rightly got sent off,” he admitted, “I have apologised to Howard Webb. I shouldn't be like that, but you get carried away."
