Under pressure Bolton Wanderers manager Gary Megson is confident that the club’s record signing Johan Elmander will eventually prove to be a worthwhile signing. He was speaking this week after the Swedish striker came under fire from fans for failing to score a goal since the opening day victory against Stoke City.

Elmander joined Bolton in the summer for £8 Million from French side Toulouse but has suffered from injuries in the opening months of the season. Megson said “He's been injured for a while. He's only scored the one goal but people can see when he's playing, aside from just goalscoring, that he's a talented lad”.

Bolton have endured a difficult start to the campaign under Megson and currently sit just outside the relegation places.
