McFadden Surgery Was A Success

Birmingham City have revealed that the operation striker James McFadden had on his knee went successfully and there is a chance that the Scot might be back in action within three weeks time.

Birmingham manager Alex McLeish informed the football world of this news and said that both the surgeon and James McFadden were happy with how well the surgery went. McLeish went onto say that McFadden feels fine now and should be playing again in around three weeks.

He added that it is great news for the club to get him back for the final run in to the end of the season.

McFadden injured his knee when he was playing in the Premier League match against Newcastle, which ended in a 1-1 draw. He tore a muscle in his knee and was ordered to go under keyhole surgery to sort the problem out.

Birmingham are in a relegation fight and McLeish thinks its imperative to have all the key players available for the run in.

McLeish said that players like McFadden and Olivier Kapo are players we need to stay fit to help us beat the drop, as we have a very young and inexperienced squad.
