McClaren Considers Becks CallEngland manager Steve McClaren is reportedly considering a recall for David Beckham to the national side. One of his first acts when he took charge after Sven Goran Erikssons demise was to drop the former captain from the squad. It is understood now though that he is looking into a recall for the summer matches against Brazil and Estonia. David Beckham has not played for the national side since England dropped out of World Cup 2006 after their quarter final defeat by Portugal. It looked as if his international career was over as he was left out of subsequent squad lists. However, Beckham’s recent form in the Spanish La Liga with Real Madrid has brought him back into contention. with A recall would represent a remarkable turn around for Beckham within the space of 1 season. After his move to LA Galaxy was announced Real Madrid coach Capello announced he would never play again for the Spanish side. However, the superstar won a first team place with scintillating form and a professional attitude. The same qualities have now placed him in the spot light for the national coach.
