Martinez Seeks Positive Reaction

Fresh from an embarrassing FA Cup exit at the hands of League Two Notts County, Wigan Athletic boss Roberto Martinez will expect a much improved performance when his charges stake on Sunderland this coming weekend.

An hour long dressing down following the embarrassing home defeat was sufficient for the Spaniard to get his message across but what was said behind a locked door will remain between Martinez and his players. "I could have shouted but as a manager you probably learn more from the bad managers than the good ones because the things you shouldn't do in a dressing room have a massive impact” he said, "It is quite clear here we are a group of responsible people who need to learn from the mistakes and the things we are not doing well. How you do that depends, as different players need different treatment and different approaches."

Wigan will have new additions Marcelo Moreno and Victor Moses available for the match against the Black Cats. They will add firepower to a team that was sadly lacking in it against County. Martinez added "If you look at the chances we missed on Tuesday night, and the chances we missed on Saturday, we need to be scoring goals when we create such good opportunities.”
