It has been reported that both Manchester United and Manchester City are chasing Ajax striker Klaas Jan Huntelaar. The 24 year old Holland international has scored a respectable 36 goals during 51 appearances for Ajax but may now leave the club.

Huntelaar will be expected to fetch in the region of £18 million and Sir Alex Ferguson sees the player as an ideal replacement for Nistelrooy who left for Real Madrid back in 2006. Manchester City boss Sven-Goran Eriksson has been a long term admirer of the player and with the cash backing of new owner Thaksin Shinawatra will be in the runnings to sign the star.
