Initial examinations on Rio Ferdinand have come to show that his groin
injury is not a long term issue. As a result he may feature in Tuesday’s game
against Sheffield United. However, an extra rest for Ferdinand and for O’Shea
who is out with a calf injury is more likely. Davis for Sheffield will almost certainly be out
after an ankle injury at the weekend while striker Stead may also not feature.
