South Korean striker Lee Dong-Guk may be passed fit to play in his side’s opening Group B encounter against Greece on Saturday.

A hamstring injury had looked likely to rule him out until the Taeguk Warriors’ second game, against Argentina on June 17^th.

 

But coach Huh Jung-Moo says the 31-year-old Pohang Steelers frontman is in contention to play at least some part against the Greeks.

Lee himself said: “I have been training normally since arriving in South Africa and my condition has improved quickly.”

K-League top scorer Lee missed out on the 2006 finals in Germany with a knee injury.
