Mexico’s young Arsenal striker Carlos Vela was at a loss to explain his side’s inability to take their chances, which cost them two points against the hosts in the tournament opening game last Friday.

 

Vela did have the ball in the net but was just offside. He said: “We have the quality, we have had the opportunities and we know that the goals will come.”

Meanwhile, captain Gerardo Torrado says he can’t wait to take on France on Thursday. He said: “Everyone wants to play this game. Mexico will come out with determination and character. We have to enjoy it.”
