Kranjcar Blow For PompeyAny joy that Portsmouth manager Paul Hart gleaned from the 1-0 win over Bolton was substantially tempered by what initially looked a serious injury to midfielder Niko Kranjcar. ![]() The Croatian international was stretchered off 15 minutes from the end of the game following what could be described as a robust challenge from the visitor’s Gavin McCann. After receiving oxygen as well as treatment, Kranjcar played no further part in the game and will have a scan on his ankle on Monday. Whilst the damage may not be as bad as first feared, the knock could certainly rule him out of the visit to Old Trafford. However, should the injury prove more substantial, Hart will have concerns over his teams run in. "It looks like a twisted ankle but it is still a blow for us because he's an important player for us, especially in a small-ish squad” he said "I certainly wouldn't expect him to be available for the game at United on Wednesday and it could be a worry long term."
