Klasnic Seals Cottage PointA goal from Croatian striker Ivan Klasnic put Bolton Wanderers on the right path at Craven Cottage but Fulham finally broke their resistance to secure a point thanks to Damien Duff. Despite the disappointment of failing to register an away win, Trotters boss Gary Megson was happy with the performance of his players. ![]() The point gained ended a run of defeats. Whilst Bolton did have opportunities, Fulham were the more dominant. However, Megson said “When you're 1-0 up and defending as well as we were, what we needed was to score a second goal and I thought we would have gone on to win with that. But in terms of the honesty of the players, their integrity and their work rate - that was all there and that's something we need to use to kick on.” He was pragmatic on the overall result. "The way the game went, it would be a little bit much to say that we were that much on top that we're disappointed just to get a point." Bolton became only the third side to deny Fulham all three points at the Cottage this season but Megson still believes that goal-scorer Klasnic can be better. "Ivan would probably be as good a finisher as there is in the Premiership, but there are other things that he needs to add to his game to be a Bolton player," said the Bolton boss, “ he has to link up the play a little bit more for us.” Tags: Ivan Klasnic, Bolton Wanderers, Fulham, Damien Duff, Gary Megson, Bolton Posted: |
