Keeper Robinson Out For Two Weeks

Blackburn Rovers goalkeeper Paul Robinson has picked up a calf injury and is now a major doubt for England’s next World Cup Qualifying match against Kazakhstan in October. It will also make it highly unlikely that he will be selected for the game against Belarus just a few days later.

The former Tottenham player will be bitterly disappointed at missing out. He lost his place as England Number One last season to David James and with the Portsmouth goalkeeper currently suffering from a loss of form, Robinson would probably see the game as an opportunity to impress coach Fabio Capello.

Robinson picked up the injury in Blackburn’s recent Carling Cup game against Everton. Rovers won the game 1-0 with a late Matt Derbyshire goal proving to be the difference between the two teams.
