Czech Republic international goalkeeper Petr Cech has reached a total of 100 clean sheets for his club Chelsea. The landmark was reached after they comfortably beat Sunderland 5-0 at Stamford Bridge at the weekend.

The total was reached in remarkably just 180 appearances since Cech joined the London club from French side Rennes in 2004. The 26 year old said “I am glad that I have reached the 100…Even more I am satisfied with the fact that I have made most of them in the Premier League and in the Champions League, in the two best football competitions in the world”.

Cech now has set the target of beating the club’s long standing clean sheet record of 205 shut outs set by Peter Bonetti.
