Keane Dismisses Exit Talk

Sunderland manager Roy Keane has angrily rejected reports that suggested that he was ready to quit the club following the treatment he and the team received after the recent Carling Cup defeat to Blackburn Rovers.

After a bright start to the season, Sunderland’s form has dipped in recent weeks in a run that has seen Keane’s team lose three games in a row recently. However the manager is dismissive of suggestions that he is ready to quit the Stadium of Light. He said “Where do the stories come from? I honestly haven't got a clue. It is just crazy... The answer is obviously no. I am very happy and obviously even happier when we win football matches... But these stories that I am not happy or that I am resigning is just nonsense”.

Keane arrived at Sunderland in August 2006 and in his first season in management took the club back in to the Premier League. Last year he guided the club to safety with a respectable fifteenth place finish.
