Jussi Out For Rest Of The Season

Jussi JaaskelainenJussi Jaaskelainen has been ruled out for the rest of the season after he picked up a back injury during a pre match warm up before Bolton’s game with Sporting Lisbon last Thursday.

The Bolton shot stopper could have played his last game for the club as his current contract at Bolton expires at the end of the season.

The 32 year old Finn will be replaced in goal by Ali Al Habsi. Bolton manager Gary Megson told how Jaaskelainen needs at least six weeks of rest before he can start to do any sort of training. He then went onto say how the Finn will need some surgery on his back and that will put him out for the remainder of the season.

With Bolton lying in the relegation zone in the Premier League and facing Manchester United on Wednesday this news comes as a big blow to them.

Bolton don’t have a shortage of goalkeepers as they have Ali Al Habsi covering Jaaskelainen and they also have the experienced Ian Walker available to play should they need to use him.

With Jaaskelainen out of contract in the summer and having rejected a contract from Bolton last summer it is feared that he could have played the last game for the club.
