Jerome Challenged To Carry On Scoring

Birmingham City boss Alex McLeish saw striker Cameron Jerome grab his ninth goal of the season against Sunderland and challenged him to continue with his rich vein of form.

With four goals in three games, he has left his goalless streak behind and McLeish hopes he will continue to keep finding the net. The Scot said "Cameron has really taken it to another level. His coverage of the pitch, his high-intensity runs, his distribution, his retention of the ball - he`s upped his level in the past three or four games in particular."

Despite all but assuring their Premier League status for another year, Birmingham will not ease up for the remainder of the season. That is the assurance to fans by Roger Johnson who says that the recent drop in form will be reversed. 'I am sure that has happened before at other clubs, you get yourself safe and then take your foot off the gas” he said. 'But that's not what we are like and we will look to put things right on Wednesday because we were disappointed with the way we have performed in the last two games.'
