Inter Milan deny interest in Didier DrogbaInter Milan president Massimo Moratti has played down talks over any potential move for Didier Drogba, claiming that the club is not interested in the Chelsea striker. Reports suggest that Drogba met with Inter officials to discuss a potential move to the San Siro, however Moratti told press: “I believe the desire is more the player's than anything else. I didn't even know about the meeting and I will get an explanation of what happened. We don’t need any more strikers.”
The Ivorian striker was said to have been spotted meeting with Inter Milan general manager Marco Branca along with Jose Mourinho’s agent Jorge Mendes in a restaurant last week.
The 30-year-old was consequently dropped to the bench for Chelsea’s UEFA Champions League fixture against Bordeaux, though the player has also come under fire following recent events against Burnley.
Drogba was seen to throw a coin back into the crowd after it was thrown at him, resulting in a three-match ban for the striker.
Chief executive Peter Kenyon has also stated that Drogba will not leave Stamford Bridge anytime soon, telling press: "Didier's under contract for the next 18 months, so he will be going nowhere in January.” Tags: Inter Milan, Massimo Moratti, Chelsea, Bordeaux Posted: |
