Howard Banishes Moyes Blues

After a season blighted by injuries to his forward line, the last thing Everton boss David Moyes was a fitness concern on the goalkeeping front. Fortunately, worries about Tim Howard were diminishing following a positive assessment from the Goodison physic team.

The USA international picked up a ‘minor’ thigh strain during the Toffee’s 4-0 demolition of Wigan Athletic and took no goal kicks during the second forty five minutes. But reports from inside the club suggest that the injury was no more than that.

The weekends two-goal hero, Brazilian Jo, is still no clearer to settling his future on Merseyside. The 22-year old has scored five in seven games but Moyes will not be drawn into further speculation about a possible swoop for the on-loan striker who Manchester City paid CSKA Moscow £18M for last summer. "I've seen him improve in training and his match fitness has got better, said Moyes, "Let's just say he is doing really well.”

Another player doing well is Marouane Fellaini whose performances are attracting rave reviews following a dubious start. Even team mate Leon Osman has commented on how well Fellani has improved in terms of general play and discipline. Clearly, the referee’s have stopped holding the Belgians hair styles against him.
