Holden States His CaseUSA international Stuart Holden reflected on his Bolton debut at White Hart Lane and is looking towards forcing his way into Owen Coyle’s thinking for up-and-coming Premier League games. The Scottish-born striker who left Houston Dynamo’s for a Premier League shot was one of the few bright spots in the 4-0 defeat. Despite competition for the forward spots from the likes of Vladimir Weiss and Jack Wilshere, Holden is positive about his move.
"I thought we had some good chances, but when you play against that type of quality you are going to get punished if you don't take them” he told the clubs own website, “I felt good out there I was helped by the lads and the Manager. They have really made me feel part of the set up and so I was pleased to get the chance to show people what I can do.”
Another individual pleased with his performance was Dutchman Riga who played the last half hour in the FA Cup loss but showed flashes of what he is capable of. "I enjoyed getting the opportunity to play, even though we were losing when I came on," he said, "I was pleased with my personal performance because I was getting into the right positions to create and score goals, and I felt I deserved at least one.” Tags: Stuart Holden, Bolton, Premier League Posted: |
