Hoefkens Seek Hawthorns Exit

Carl Hoefkens has expressed his desire to leave West Brom after a distinct lack of first team starts.

Boss Tony Mowbray is not completely happy with the Belgian international’s statement but understands his frustrations. “Carl is well within his rights to speak. I always prefer people to air their disappointment to me and not publicly because I think it can erode team camaraderie if individuals start speaking out.”

In preparation for the Stoke game, the Baggies defence have been putting in extra training to combat the throw in threat of Rory Delap. Shelton Martis said "We are doing a lot of training on trying to combat what Rory Delap can do with his throws, and I mean a lot. It has been a big weapon for Stoke. We really have to make sure we are ready to deal with it.”

Another West Brom international, winger James Morrison, said that his display against Iceland was entirely down to being left out against Holland. The 22-year olds performance in the 2-1 win won rave reviews. His fifth and so far best cap has pushed him into the frame for a more regular berth.
