Hiddink Announces 23-man Squad![]()
Alexander Pavlenko of Spartak Moscow and Oleg Ivanov of Samara have failed to make it to the final 23 of Guus Hiddink’s Euro 2008 Russia squad. However, Hiddink will try and keep Pavlenko and Ivanon to stay with the squad.
Hiddink, who has been linked with manager less Chelsea recently has denied all links with the club and has hoped to extend his contract with the Russian national side. A good Euro 2008 campaign will only improve his already glittering reputation.
5 players from CSKA Moscow and 6 players from UEFA Cup champions Zenit St Petersburg have found their way into the squad.
Russia qualified for the Euro 2008 football tournament at the expense of favourites England.
