Heskey Owen Partnership

 

The partnership of Emile Heskey and Michael Owen for England has been the most successful since the international retirement of Alan Shearer. Now Emile Heskey has been recalled to the England squad the partnership will be reunited. Heskey has not featured for the national side since the Euro 2004 tournament but collected 43 caps between 1999 and 2004. The 29 year old is now part of Steve McClaren’s plans as the nation battles for Euro 2008 qualification.

 

Michael Owen has been particularly successful when matched with Heskey. He has netted 11 times in 12 games alongside the Latics striker. Both players have further history and have played together right back to Under 18 level for England. Manager and fans alike will be hoping the duo can recreate their past success in the upcoming qualifiers for England against Israel and Russia.
