A few weeks back we speculated on a summer transfer to Manchester United for England international midfielder Owen Hargreaves. The player is currently at Bayern Munich but according to reports is close to finalising the deal with the Premier League champions.

The deal is believed to be worth close to £17 million and Hargreaves has been offered a 4 year contract with the team. The 26 year old would be a great addition to Manchester United and a welcome sight in the English Premier League. Such a move will also help him gain a more secure placement in the national side.

Owen Hargreaves has played at Bayern Munich for 10 years. Playing a total of 145 league games he also helped the club win the UEFA Champions League in 2001. Hargreaves recently picked up a knee injury which means he missed the teams recent win in the German Bundesliga as they beat Energie Cottbus 5-2.
