Hangeland Seeks Europa Spot

Fulham centre back Brede Hangeland is looking for a final push to end the season on a high. Compared to the last-minute survival scrap last season, a drive towards European football next season should be a relative breeze.

Since joining the Cottagers from FC Copenhagen, the Norwegian has played a major part in their 2009 campaign and believes that a similar period of good form to that on which they ended 2008 could see the London club challenge for a place in the new Europa League. “If we play well we could still have the best season Fulham have ever had in the Premier League. I’m sure if you asked the players they would love to achieve it. Some of the most memorable games I’ve taken part in have been in Europe. It would be great to make it."

Roy Hodgson looks increasingly unlikely to add to his Nordic contingent during the summer. Despite rumours linking Coventry City’s Aron Gunnarsson with a move away from the Ricoh, the 19-year old states that approaches from Fulham and the likes of Celtic will fail if the right deal is offered by the Sky Blues.
