Hands Off Tuncay

Tuncay Sanli

Middlesbrough manager Gareth Southgate has warned both Galatasaray and Fenerbahce that Turkish striker Tuncay Sanli is not for sale.

Both Turkish clubs were reported to be lining up £5 million bids for the striker over the weekend.

Gareth Southgate has insisted that the striker is not leaving The Riverside who has only been at the club for one season having arrived last summer on a free transfer.

Southgate said that Tuncay was a good player and that it was of no surprise to him when he heard about the two Turkish clubs lining up moves for him. Southgate added that Tuncay has been brilliant and done a good job for us. He finished by saying that Tuncay is enjoying his football at the minute and has improved immensely as the season has commenced.

Tuncay struggled to adjust to life at Boro and the Premier League but has gradually improved as the season has progressed. He revealed he is enjoying life at the club and admits he found it hard to settle but knew it would take some time to adjust to a new life style.
