Hammers interested in Johnson?

West Ham have been linked with a possible move for Everton's Andy Johnson, with Sunderland and Middlesbrough also reportedly interested in securing the striker's signature.

Alan Curbishley needs to bring in reinforcements after on loan striker Henri Camara left for Wigan after a disastrous season. The Hammers do have an excellent centre forward in Dean Ashton, but should one of the big clubs make a move for him, it will be tough to keep him at Upton Park. Some media reports have already said that Manchester United are considering tabling a bid for the powerful forward. West Ham executives are set to meet Ashton to discuss an extension to his contract, which expires next year.

Johnson moved to Everton from Crystal Palace in 2006 for a fee of £8.6m. He signed a new five year deal in November 2007.

Juventus' Davide Lanzafame, dubbed the Italian Ronaldo, may come to Upton Park on a season long loan, should the Turin club's bid involving him for Palermo's Amauri fail.
