The Dutch have had an excellent qualifying campaign, winning all of their eight games and coach Bert van Marwijk will be optimistic that his side can take the form into the tournament and put up their best performance in recent years. With the winners of the group expected to play Slovakia, Paraguay or New Zealand in the knockout stage, Netherlands have a great chance of making it at least to the quarter finals though van Marwijk will be hoping that his side can go further in the competition.

The second qualification spot presents an intriguing battle with Denmark slight favorites to progress to the next round. The Danish side has had a good qualification campaign and boasts of quality players such as Nicklas Bendtner, Christian Poulsen and Jon Dahl Tomasson.

However they face a tough fight from Cameroon and Japan with the latter having progressed to the knockout stage in 2002. With Denmark set to play Netherlands in their opening match, both Cameroon and Japan will be aware that the winner of their match will be in pole position to qualify to the knockout stage.

The Dutch squad is filled with a number of star players with Arjen Robben , Wesley Sneijder and Robin Van Persie all having excellent season with their respective clubs. Cameroon will be relying heavily on Samuel Eto'o to provide the goals up front while Carlos Kameni and Stephane M'bia are attracting interest from a number of big European clubs.
