The lack of firepower at Chelsea is causing concern for fans and manager alike. Despite an array of attacking talent Chelsea are suffering from a mini goal drought which is landing them with tough battles. Chelsea maintained their unbeaten home record but the goalless draw against Blackburn was far from inspiring.

The game was overshadowed by controversy as Chelsea were actually denied a valid goal. However, the lack of goals is a growing worry for the championship contenders. Jose Mourinho’s team failed to score against Villa and could only manage a single goal against Portsmouth. Chelsea are seriously missing the attacking prowess of Didier Drogba. The Ivory Coast star is sidelined with injury but netted a total of 33 games for the club last season.

Drogba's power and pace was badly missed against Blackburn with Andriy Shevchenko, making his first start of the season, missing a host of gilt-edged chances to seal all three points for Mourinho's side. Mourinho and fans alike will be hoping for a swift return for Drogba.
