Claude LeRoy the coach of Cup of African Nations hosts Ghana has released the final 23 man squad for the tournament. The hosts are hindered with many stars on the injury list. However, their preparations were boosted when Celta Vigo forward Abeyie was cleared to play for them.

John Mensah takes over Stephen Appiah’s captaincy who is ruled out through injury. Essien, Muntari and Barrusso will marshall a strong midfield. Ghana go into the tournament in confident mood. They will be looking for their 5^th victory in the tournament. This feat has only been achieved by Egypt to date. Ghana will open the tournament when they play Guinea on the 20^th of January.
