Lyon star Karim Benzema could be on his way out at the Stade Gerland after his agent revealed that top European clubs were currently in talks with Lyon over the strikers transfer away from the French champions.

Benzema’s agnet told press: “I know that Lyon’s directors have met with Barca, Real Madrid and Manchester United’s representatives and that all those three great clubs are very interested in signing him regarding next season.”

Old Trafford could be one of the striker’s likely destinations with Sir Alex Ferguson praising the star on numerous occasions, though Benzema has said on numerous occasions that he is happy in France and at Lyon.

Meanwhile, Lyon are also said to be in the running for exiled Arsenal defender William Gallas, after the French defender was stripped of his captaincy following his shocking outburst to the English media.

Gallas has already declared a desire to return to France, with Marseille along with Lyon, PSG or Bordeaux his preferred destination.

Gallas was recently quoted as saying: “It's true that I'd like to return to France for one or perhaps two seasons to finish my career, But if I go, it won't be to just anywhere. I'd go to a big club or nowhere at all. The choices look simple to me - it would be Marseilles, Lyon, PSG or, let's not forget, Bordeaux.”

According to various news sources in England, Gallas has been told by manager Arsene Wenger that he is no longer welcome at the club he insists is not ‘brave enough’, and following recent events at the Emirates stadium it would not come as a surprise for many should Gallas leave in January.
