Fulham Seek To Hold On To Hangeland

With the likes of Liverpool, Arsenal and Manchester City all reported to be interested, Roy Hodgson is preparing to do his very best to keep Brede Hangeland at Craven Cottage.

The Norwegian international has attracted the interest of other clubs with some fine performances and rumours of bids of around £10M have started to circulate. But Hodgson is set to offer the 27-year old a new contract in a bid to retain the services of the defender.

"We're in the throes now of preparing a contract suggestion for Brede that he's more than happy to see, and that's the situation," Hodgson said. "He knows we're going to make him an offer and he's very happy to talk to us about that offer. That's something which I'm sure will be resolved in the future."

Hodgson has received praise from one of his other defenders, John Pantsil, who said the squad are pleased with the former Blackburn boss and the work he has done since his arrival. "We have a fantastic manager and he's turned things around quite quickly. We believe in him and he's got us playing some very consistent football this year."
