Fulham Draw. (Yet) again.

It seems there are three things in life about which you can be sure; death, taxes and Fulham getting a point in their latest EPL fixture.

Last Saturday’s 1-1 stalemate at West Ham was their sixth in their first seven EPL games, which leaves them ninth despite being unbeaten in the EPL under new manager Mark Hughes – their sole defeat being a 2-0 Carling Cup exit at Stoke.

However, their draws away from Craven Cottage have stretched Fulham’s winless run on the road to 13 months.

And while Hughes feels his side will soon turn draws into wins, he admitted he might have to adjust the open style of play he has tried to instil in the team since his summer appointment.

He said: “It is only a matter of time given the quality that we have got before we turn the draws into victories.”

But in the wake of the draw at Upton Park, where Fulham conceded a lead, as they had done at Blackpool and against Manchester United, Hughes admitted: “We overplayed to our cost.

“We want to play a certain way but maybe away from home that philosophy has to be tempered.”

Clint Dempsey gave the Cottagers the lead at Upton Park before Fulham conceded a 51st-minute equaliser to Frederic Piquionne. They have failed to win an EPL away fixture since the opening day of 2009/10 when they overcame Portsmouth.

Fulham host London rivals Spurs on October 16th in the first match after the upcoming international break.
