Freddie Ready To Impress

West Ham United academy graduate Freddie Sears intends to prove his worth during a loan spell next season. The 19 year old has not featured heavily this season and with a fit-again Dean Ashton expected to lead the line in the new campaign, manager Gianfranco Zola thinks that the striker will benefit from a loan spell where he can play more often.

Sears made his debut last year, scoring against Blackburn but has found breaking into the first eleven a difficult trick during the current season. He is aware that a loan spell can often provide young players with opportunities to shine. "When you are not playing at West Ham, you just want to play football and going on loan is something I would definitely be interested in," Sears said "Some of the boys have come back after going out on loan and you can see that it is helped - just confidence-wise and just playing in front of thousands of people every week."

The England Under-19 international would like to stay in the capital but is willing to look further-a-field if the deal is right. "For me, a London team would be nice, but if you have to go away from home, you live with it."
