Wigan Athletic new-boy Franco Di Santo cannot wait to get started following his move from Stamford Bridge.

 

The 21-year old Argentinean striker failed to establish himself at Chelsea but is intent on proving himself at the DW Stadium, repaying the faith shown in him by new boss Roberto Martinez and looking to thrive playing alongside compatriot Mauro Boselli. “We’re so excited about him as a human being and as a player, said Martinez, “I think he can play for Argentina and is someone we have very high hopes for.”

“I am very keen to get my first start for Wigan and I will be ready on Saturday if the manager decides to play me” he said, “Mauro is one of the best players in Argentina at the moment and so I would love to play with him and learn from all of his experience.”

Meanwhile, January may see yet another addition to the forward line as rumours that former transfer target, Turkish international Tuncay Sanli, may be sold by Stoke City when the window opens again. Wigan were keen to take the former Middlesbrough player on loan during the summer and may get a shot at a permanent deal at the turn of the year.
