After falling at the final hurdle to Italy in Berlin four years ago, France will look to go one step better this summer at the FIFA World Cup in South Africa. See the likes of Thierry Henry, Nicolas Anelka and Yoann Gourcuff in action by signing up to see France live at the 2010 World Cup.

France qualified for the World Cup in somewhat fortuitous circumstances, with a controversial goal dubbed the Hand of God Version II helping them beat the Republic of Ireland in the playoffs. The team’s star player Franck Ribery has been embroiled in a scandal involving an under age escort girl.

Coach Raymond Domenech has also given the cold shoulder to Real Madrid’s multi million pound signing Karim Benzema and veteran Manchester City midfielder Patrick Vieira. There is no place for Arsenal player Samir Nasri either. Domenech came under heavy criticism following the team’s poor performance at Euro 2008, but managed to hold on to his job. The French bowed out without a whimper and were outplayed by Holland and Italy in their group games. Their much vaunted forward line managed to score only once in three games.

This summer in South Africa, France will be without Zinedine Zidane, the mercurial playmaker who orchestrated their 1998 triumph and also helped them reach the finals of the 2006 event. Zidane has hung up his boots and France have never quite managed to find a replacement for him. This tournament is likely to be Domenech’s last in charge of the national team, with former Manchester United defender Laurent Blanc set to take over the reigns from him after the World Cup.

Can Les Bleus make up for a poor Euro 2008 this summer? See live streaming of France’s games at the World Cup and find out.
