Sir Alex Ferguson hailed his teams goal tally as he claimed the ninth premiership title for Manchester United. Ferguson stated that his teams attacking prowess and impressive goals tally were decisive in allowing them to snatch the English Premier League title from rivals Chelsea. United have so far scored 83 goals this season compared to only 63 for Chelsea.

Goals came thick and fast for Manchester United during the season. The beauty of the success was that goals came throughout the squad. One of the highlights of the season has been the performances and goal tally of midfielder Cristiano Ronaldo. His efforts on the pitch have also led to him picking up 3 player of the year awards including 2 PFA and one from the writer’s association.
