Ferguson Confident Queiroz Will Stay
Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson is certain that his assistant manager Carlos Queiroz will not leave the club to join Benfica next season. Several media reports in Portugal revealed that Queiroz was interested in replacing current Benfica manager Fernando Chalana who is in temporary charge after the departure of former manager Jose Antonio Camacho, who left the club last month. However, Sir Alex Ferguson has insisted that Queiroz will be at Old Trafford next season as his assistant and is not going anywhere. He also revealed that Benfica have not contacted Man Utd about a possible move for Queiroz. Ferguson said that he is sure Queiroz won’t be going anywhere next season and will remain at Old Trafford. Queiroz was in charge of La Liga giants Real Madrid for one year but returned to Old Trafford in 2004. He has also being head coach of Portugal, United Arab Emirates and South Africa.
