Fabregas Upset Over Taylor Ban
Croatian striker Eduardo is out with the injury that broke his leg and will miss the Euro 2008 tournament in the summer and could be out of action for up to a year. The player who injured the striker, Birmingham City player Martin Taylor was given a three match ban and has already missed two games. Fabregas is upset that for such a horrific injury and an injury that could have ended Eduardo’s career, the ordinary three match ban for a straight red card was not long enough, especially as Eduardo could miss up to a year of football. Fabregas also feels that Taylor went into the tackle to injure Eduardo, although Eduardo and Taylor have both shook hands on the matter. Fabregas thinks that Taylor needs to admit he went out to injure Eduardo if he is to get a longer ban, but Taylor will never admit to intentionally trying to injure him. Fabregas said that he doubts Taylor will ever own up to injuring him on purpose and that he blames Taylor for the whole incident. He added that the fact that one player, the victim, misses up to a year of football and the other player, the offender, only misses three games is unjust.
