In an astonishing turn of events, Real Madrid have sacked their manager Fabio Capello days after he had guided them to their first La Liga title in four years. Fabio Capello had joined Real at the start of last season and his head was always on the chopping block for most part of the season. But as the season progressed, Real mounted a serious title challenged and the calls for Capello’s head subsided.

The sixty one year old Capello had two more years left in his current contract. Capello drew criticism from all quarters for the way he mishandled the David Beckham issue.

Capello, who has also managed the likes of Milan , Roma and Juventus maintained his record of winning the League with every club. Getafe’s German coach Bernd Schuster is tipped by many to succeed Capello at the Bernabeu.
