FIFA Must Act On Keita FarceThe behaviour of Ivorian Kader Keita to go down clutching his face in a sickening but successful attempt to get Kaka sent off was disgraceful and FIFA must act decisively before this ugly side of football is allowed to contaminate the game even further. ![]() The right thing to do would be to overturn Kaka’s second yellow and ban Keita for his outrageous attack on the integrity of the game. But as we all know, FIFA don’t really do common sense and if they fail to punish the culprit, while forcing the innocent party to accept his, will only condone cheating. But Brazil as a whole weren’t exactly squeaky clean either and perhaps they brought their misfortunate on themselves. The referee and Luis Fabiano had a laugh and a joke about his double handball which led to his second goal, while the play-acting by Kaka’s team-mates was pretty unsavoury in the run up to his dismissal. Nearly every bit of contact was greeted by an almighty dive, while Dunga was constantly throwing up his arms in disgust at every opportunity from the touchline. It’s just a shame that when they got their comeuppance, it fell on one of their most honest players. Tags: Kader Keita, Kaka, FIFA, Luis Fabiano, Dunga, Brazil, Ivory Coast, World Cup Posted: |
