Eriksson Favourite For CityFormer England coach Sven-Goran Eriksson could be named as new manager for Manchester City within the next 24 hours. The club is in the midst of a takeover bid from a consortium led by controversial former Thai prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra. Shinawatra is said to be a fan of Eriksson and plans to hand the new manager a £50 million transfer kitty. Eriksson stood down as England coach a year ago and has since been absent from the game despite rumours linking him to a number of clubs. With the administration at City likely to change rapidly the club look forward to a bright future with an experienced manager at the helm. With such change in the balance one of the clubs brightest young talents 20 year old Nedum Onuoha has already committed his future to the English Premier League side by putting pen to paper on a new four year contract. Onuoha joined the club when he was 10 and has progressed through the academy ranks.
