Eriksson Unveiled At City

Sven-Goran Eriksson has been unveiled as the new manager of Manchester City after signing a 3 year contract with the Premiership club. It is the dawn of a new era as the club is also locked in takeover talks from a consortium led by ex Thai prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra.

59 year old Swede Erikkson has spent a year in the shadows since stepping down as England national coach following World Cup 2006. The Football Association continued to pay Erikkson compensation for his time which has surrounded the manager with controversy.

Erikkson has been linked with Manchester City since the departure of Stuart Pearce following a dismal 2006-07 season. Despite Eriksson’s unveiling he has already been linked with 2 frontmen Yakubu and Nicolas Anelka. He revealed that he will be looking to extend the City squad and to develop the club in light of their new backing.
