The international friendly between England and Brazil will hold a special place in the hearts of English fans. Wembley will be hosting its first international match since October 2000. Over 90,000 fans are expected to turn up for this "showpiece" event.

England manager, Steve McClaren is facing a mini injury crisis ahead of the must-win Euro 2008 qualifier game against Estonia. Rio Ferdinand, Michael Dawson, Gary Neville, Aaron Lennon, Ashley Cole, Owen Hargreaves, Jonathan Woodgate and Micah Richards are almost certain to miss both the friendly against Brazil and the qualifier against Estonia.

Wayne Bridge is a major doubt for the game against Brazil and McClaren has called up Reading's Nicky Shorey as back up. With Terry being one of the defensive duos to start the match, it will be a toss up between Carragher and Ledley King for the other slot.

Meanwhile England welcomes some familiar faces back into the squad. Former captain, David Beckham has been called up following his impressive form for Real Madrid. With Lennon out of the squad, Beckham is certain to start the game against Brazil, while Michael Owen makes an international comeback following a year-long spell on the doctor's table.

Brazil coach Dunga has named a strong team to face England at Wembley. The Brazilian team includes biggies such as Ronaldinho, Kaka and Gilberto Silva. Also included in the squad is 26-year old Heerenveen striker Afonso Alves, who has had a superb season with the Dutch side, scoring an incredible 34 goals in 31 matches. Alves has been attracting interest from some of the big clubs of Europe including Manchester United.

The Brazilian coach has received mild criticism for selecting just two players from the domestic league in Brazil. However Dunga defended his decision, stating that nearly all of Brazil's best players ply their trade in Europe. He also stated his belief that England has improved significantly in recent years and his team will have to be up for the task to come away with a victory.

"England have improved a lot recently. They no longer just throw those high balls into the box. They've come on a lot in terms of having players with good technique", Dunga said in a press conference.

The game will kick-off on June 1 at 20:00 (GMT). Free Football TV has provided access to a record number of games this season.
