Barcelona striker Ronaldinho is set to miss the rest of the La Liga season after he tore a muscle in his right leg.

The Brazil star, who has won the Player of the Year in the past has only started 13 games this season out of a possible 30 games. He has constantly being plagued by injury problems this season.

The injury would force him to miss the semi final of the Champions League should Barcelona reach it. The game could see Barcelona meet Manchester United in the last four. Both teams are favourites to win their second leg of the Quarter Finals after winning their first leg ties.

Ronaldinho’s last game for Barcelona was against Villarreal on the 9^th March and this was the match where he started complaining about the muscle injury.

Ronaldinho had a scan but it didn’t reveal any problems to his muscles. He will miss Barcelona’s last eight games of the La Liga season. Barcelona are third in the table, one point from second place and seven behind first spot, which is occupied by Real Madrid.

Ronaldinho’s injury has come at a bad time for Barcelona. Deco has missed the last six games due to an injury to his calf. Lionel Messi is out for another two weeks and should be back around the end of April.
