End Of The Season For Onuoha

Nedum Onuoha

Manchester City will now have to do without young defender Nedum Onuoha after he was carried off against Chelsea at the weekend with a dislocated shoulder.

The England Under-21 star injured his shoulder when trying to tackle Chelsea midfielder John Obi Mikel. He fell badly and was carried off the field on a stretcher. He also hurt his wrist in the incident.

Manchester City haven’t been told how long Onuoha will take to get back to full fitness but it looks likely he will miss the rest of the campaign.

Manchester City manager Sven Goran Eriksson said that it was a nasty injury; the shoulder came out and popped back in again. He also has a wrist problem and is currently in hospital recovering.

Eriksson added that he was playing brilliantly against Chelsea before the injury and it is a major blow for the team to have him out injured.
