Elmander confident of recoverySwedish striker Johan Elmander is confident that he would recover from his foot injury in time for Sweden’s opening game of the UEFA Euro 2008 against Greece next Tuesday. The striker played the role of a substitute in Sweden’s 1-0 loss to Ukraine but limped off after injuring his foot.
Despite admitting slight discomfort, the striker is confident that he will be fit enough for the crucial opener against defending champions Greece. Speaking to Sportbladet, Elmander said, "It's not fun to get injured when you get the chance, but I have to fight on."
Elmander also said that the injury was still painful and would receive treatment the following day, but the team doctor had said that an X-Ray was not needed.
"I am not worried, I hope that I can do some jogging in training on Wednesday", Said the striker.
Lugano is the next destination for Sweden and hopefully will not be their last. Tags: Johan Elmander, Euro 2008, Sweden Posted: |
