Dutch may field a weak side to knock us out - France

According to reports, French coach Raymond Domenech is concerned about the fact that group leaders Holland could field a weak team against Romania, thereby allowing the Tricolorii to qualify at the expense of both France and current world champions Italy.

Both France and Italy have one point from their two outings, and the two will meet in Zurich on Tuesday in their final group game. But all their efforts will come to nought should the Netherlands, who are already assured of qualification lose to Romania. Victor Piturca's side drew against both France and Italy, and should fancy themselves against an understrength Dutch side, given that they picked up four points in qualifying against the very same team.

According to the new format for this tournament, there is a possible chance that the Dutch and France may meet in the semifinals should the latter qualify. For that to happen, Holland must beat the second ranked team in Group D - one of Sweden and Russia, and France must beat group D winners Spain.
